Fakenham Foxes with a full squad on their first home fixture, matched Peterborough at 12's.
The Foxes kicked off with players trying out new positions and clicked immediately playing with confidence. It wasn't long before Alex Grant broke in the centre to score the first. Hannah Beard stepping in at 10 and commanding well followed with a great try. Peterborough requested uncontested scrums 10 mins in but the Foxes used this to their advantage with a great move from the scrum to release Kirstie Smith on the wing to score.
Peterborough tried to get into the game but the defence was solid. Ange Waterson made a fantastic
run down the wing and was only denied by brushing the touchline. Alex Grant crashed through to add another just on half time. 26 – 0
In the second half the Foxes took an early blow when Kym Kendle was injured who was playing a strong game in the centre. The Foxes sat back a little and Peterborough took advantage and scored. The Foxes came back with a set move from the scrum releasing fast Amber Wadlow to score. Shortly after Sharp Captain Mandy Warren saw a chance stepped over and ran clear to add to the trys. The backs played well and the ball was shipped down to Kirstie Smith to score again, she also converted 6 out of 8 tries. Gemma Seville was jumping with confidence to win lineout ball. Unfortunately the Foxes tired and allowed Peterborough two tries. Hannah Beard then scooped up loose ball and broke free to score. Katie Wheelhouse played well throughout in her new Second row position. A fantastic Foxes all round team performance! Final score 52-15
